“A blur of colored pencils, solvents and Q-tips; the choices are entirely visual. As I continue to grow as an artist, I've begun to understand the importance of light and drama, but I trust visual intuition over aesthetic theory. If an idea emerges from viewing a shot, I run with it. The genius of a piece is the ability to capture the initial spark, which has more to do with letting go than control. That happens rarely. But then, so does good art.”
