What's next?

I won't lie, getting started is time consuming. The process is both intimidating as well as  exhilarating.  A challenge. A commitment. First the idea. Then many many photos are taken, and pondered over, until two or three are chosen for the subject reference, and a few more for the background.  This is when basic compositional choices and palettes are decided upon. The spark of artistic excitement begins to take hold.

Working out the kinks

This start of a landscape study is 9.5 x 38".  There are several inches on the right to fill.  The path will not be centered. And I will go back in to add some details of course. Colored pencil tends to get  picky. This is my way to loosen up and work out the kinks.
