This 3x18" miniature or "thumbnail" of a local Ohio park, was created with colored pencil on linen. The miniature allows me to practice composition and palette, as well as release creative energy in a minimal amount of time. I am so busy these days caring for my elderly mom, playing with my 1 year old grandson, being there for kids, spouse, pets and yes I have two part time jobs, it's difficult for me to invest in a big project. I have to be sure it will be good enough to warrant the oodles of hours ahead. This miniature was inspired by a plank of barn wood, on which the art will eventually be mounted. The starlings look more like bats to me, so will be worked out in the larger composition. More to come...
