This is a work in progress of the little creek in the Catskills my husband and I camped next to this summer. The reflections are challenging, to say the least. Still plenty to do. lets hope I don't screw it up by going too far.
I'm working on landscapes right now, in order to improve my portrait backgrounds. The goal is speed. This little 18x10" took me 8 hours. That may seem like a long time, but when you add up the hours spent on a portrait, it averages three times that amount. Colored Pencil is not for weaklings

OK, so I can't help but jump up and down over this exhibit. My painting is surrounded by some of the best of the best, CP art in the world. What a huge honor! The venue is beautiful. Two well lit floors plus hallways filled to the brim with nothing but colored pencil. Am I in Heaven? I

Here's the signed version. I have since obscured the eyes that seemed to peer out from the tree. But, one thing I missed, was the compositional no-no of placing the vertical line of the tree right down the middle. By the time I noticed it was too late. Hopefully the Lillies and light draw your attention away from my faux pas. Now off to the framer.
